About the Airport
Stuttgart International Airport is the sixth busiest airport in Germany as well as being a historic airport. The airport is located 13km south of the city center.

The airport, which was established in 1939, witnessed important historical events and has been an important airport since the day it was built. There are four terminals at the airport, which has offices in major European airlines. Transport from Stuttgart Arlanda Airport to the City Center
You can use the metro, train, bus, taxi or private car to get to the city center from the airport.
The most convenient public transport you can use to get to the city center from the airport is commuter trains. S-Bahn lines S2 and S3 from the train station located on the first floor in Terminal 1 go directly to the train station in the city center. For trains that reach the city center in about half an hour, the one-time fare is 4 € (2019).
You can also use buses departing from the exit of Terminal 1. It takes about 25 minutes to travel directly by bus to the city center. One way ticket is 3.70 €. Buses 40, 41 and 42 are available.
You can find a taxi at the exit of the airport for 24 hours. Taxis will take you to the city center in about 20 minutes. The average fare is around € 40, but the fare may vary depending on your destination (2019).

Public Transport
Stuttgart has a very simple and advanced public transport system. There are two suburban train lines, S-Bahn and U-Bahn, which stop in every part of the city. Public buses are another public transportation option next to the train. You can easily go to any point in Stuttgart using these two.
One type of ticket is used for all public transport. The ticket price is 1.30 €. The city is divided into regions for public transportation and we recommend that you only buy tickets for zones 1 and 2 for those visiting the city center and its surroundings (2019).
In addition to the ticket, there are public transport cards on behalf of StuttCard. Card prices vary between 15 and 30 € depending on the region and duration you will use. Cards can be obtained from bus drivers or ticket offices and machines at metro stations.
Cycling in a city like Stuttgart is very enjoyable and we recommend you to try it in spring or summer.
