S-Bahn lines S2 and S3 from the train station located on the first floor in Terminal 1 go directly to the train station in the city center. For trains that reach the city center in about half an hour, the one-time fare is 4 € (2019).

You can also use buses departing from the exit of Terminal 1. It takes about 25 minutes to travel directly by bus to the city center. One way ticket is 3.70 €. Buses 40, 41 and 42 are available.

You can find a taxi at the exit of the airport for 24 hours. Taxis will take you to the city center in about 20 minutes. The average fare is around € 40, but the fare may vary depending on your destination (2019).

Public Transport

Stuttgart has a very simple and advanced public transport system. There are two suburban train lines, S-Bahn and U-Bahn, which stop in every part of the city. Public buses are another public transportation option next to the train. You can easily go to any point in Stuttgart using these two.
