Malatya Airport is one of the first airports in Türkiye. It became operational in 1941 in  Battalgazi Malatya. However, it was later deployed in another area and  put into service as of May 1984. Currently it has both international and domestic terminals with an overall annual passenger capacity of 100.000 for international flights and 900.000 for domestic lines.
