Hamburg Airport, which dates back to the beginning of the 1900s, started to play an active role in the field of civil aviation since 1990. Transport from Hamburg Airport to the City Center
From the airport, the city center can be reached by public transport, taxi and shuttle.
There are many bus lines and metro lines running between the airport and the city center. Passengers and tourists can get public transport cards or free city tour tickets from the Hamburg Airport Welcome Center at the arrivals hall.
There is a subway line called S1-Bahn just below the airport. The journey takes 25 minutes and the ticket for adults is 3.30 EURO and for children between 6-14 years 1.20 EURO. For children under 4 years of age you can get free tickets from Hamburg Airport Welcome Center. The S1-Bahn line runs between 04:00 and 23:00 between the airport and the city center.
There are also bus lines between the city center and the airport. Daytime bus lines run to different points of the city and metro stops. These are lines 392, 28 and 292. Bus line 606 runs every hour at night and goes directly to the city center.

Public Transport
In Hamburg, public transport is well developed and is provided by metro, buses, commuter trains and taxis.

Bus lines in the city are open 24 hours a day and go to every point in the city, even to the surrounding districts. Buses from Rathausmark, near the Hamburg City Hall, arrive every half hour. Buses with a total of 600 lines are also connected to metro and commuter train lines.

Places to see
There are beautiful historical buildings, museums and nature parks all over Hamburg, where you can find the best examples of Gothic architecture.
